Jake Cuenca on Sam Pinto: "No one knows me better than her."

Jake once courted the former PBB Double Up housemate when they were still in the modeling industry.

Jake Cuenca was excited when he found out that he would be working with Sam Pinto again.



It was reported that Jake once courted the former Pinoy Big Brother Double Up housemate when both of them were not yet in showbiz. But no relationship prospered.
While others would feel awkward working with an old flame, Jake and Sam felt otherwise in their reunion project, the weekly fantasy series Agimat: Ang mga Alamat ni Ramon Revilla Presents Elias Paniki.



In fact, when Jake found out about their team-up, he immediately called Sam. "Masayang-masaya ako kasi nga magkakilala na kami, matagal ko na siyang hindi nakakasama o nakikita. Noong sinabi sa akin na siya 'yong magiging leading lady ko dito sa Agimat, sobrang saya ko talaga. As in tumawag pa nga po ako sa kanya, 'O, magkasam raw tayo sa Elias Paniki!'" Jake related to PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and other media at the presscon of Agimat yesterday, May 12.



Jake also mentioned that his past relationship with Sam helped in building rapport on the set. "Tulad nga po ng sinabi ni Sam, dahil sa past na 'yon, nakatulong po 'yon sa mga eksena, e," he said.



The young actor added, "Suwabeng-suwabe po 'yong taping namin. Nagulat nga ako kasi hindi ko ma-imagine na umaarte si Sam. Kasi, knowing her, talagang magkaibigan pa kami noon, talagang wala pa sa plano niya ang mag-artista. Kaya naninibago ako."



Since Jake entered showbiz earlier than his former colleague in modeling, the actor took the initiative to guide her during their tapings.



He said, "Kinuha ko na lang ang responsibilidad na i-guide siya kasi siyempre, bago sa kanya ang mundo ng showbiz. So, 'yon, gina-guide ko naman po siya sa taping."



What can he say about Sam's potential as an actress?



"Magaling siya, honestly," Jake replied. "Sa totoo lang, magaling siya. Nagulat ako, sa unang eksena pa lang namin, ang galing niya talagang umarte kaya it's really my pleasure to be working with her."



For those who think that this could be the chance for Jake to continue what he has started with Sam before, it looks like the actor hasn't really thought about it yet.



Jake, so far, is contented having Sam as his leading lady. For him, "Malaking blessing na kada taping kasama ko siya. Basta kasama ko siya, nandito siya sa tabi ko, masaya na ako. Tulad nga ng sinabi ko noon, wala nang ibang nakakakilala sa akin, no one knows me better than Sam.



"Kilala na niya ako noong hindi pa ako artista. Nakita niya akong magsimula. Nakita na niya ako magmula noong hindi pa kami nag-aartista, nagmo-model pa lang ako. Kilalang-kilala ako ni Sam kaya ang mabigyan ako ng pagkakataon na makasama ko siya sa taping, masayang-masaya ako doon."

Maja Salvador denies 'drunk' charges

Young star Maja Salvador has refuted rumors that she got intoxicated at a bar recently, let alone seen embracing an unidentified guy while in a state of drunkenness.

In an interview aired on "Showbiz News Ngayon" last May 7, Salvador stated she’s not fond of drinking nor visiting bars.

“[At] sino ba ‘yong guy na ‘yon? Si Sam ba iyon o si Piolo?” she asked sarcastically.

Salvador said the person people saw was probably an "impostor" -- this, despite reports that her drinking was captured in photos.

“May pictures daw ba? Nasaan? Naku, kung meron talaga, magagawan ng paraan. Hindi po. Talagang dedma. Hindi po ako ganoong tao,” the ‘Impostor’ star emphasized.

Salvador added that she'd rather sleep early than go on drinking binges.

“[Nu’ng] nasa Boracay nga ako, 9 p.m. tulog na ako. Never ko pa po naranasang malasing,” she stressed.

Salvador showed diplomacy to those who are circulating this ugly rumor about her.

“Thank you po kasi at least napag-uusapan ako. Pero hindi po ako ‘yon. I’m sorry kung sinasabi ko pong hindi, dahil hindi talaga! Pasensiya na po kayo. Hindi ako ‘yon. Ita-try ko minsan magpakalasing,” she said a bit flustered.

PBB Teen Housemate Ivan Dorschner Appeared on Wowowee and Showtime

Prior to his entering the Pinoy Big Brother house, Ivan Dorschner apparently captivated the female (and gay) hosts of Wowowee and Showtime.

The 19-year-old Filipino American captured the hearts of Pokwang and Valerie Concepcion in a previous episode of Wowowee. Valerie said Ivan looks like the younger version of Brad Pitt. He played Hep Hep Hooray that time.

In the previous episode of Showtime, on the other hand, Vice Ganda went Gaga over Ivan. Even Anne Curtis was captivated with his good looks.

Ivan Dorschner is currently the most popular housemate in Pinoy Big Brother Teen Clash of 2010. He just entered the kuya’s house last Saturday night together with 15 other housemates competing for the grand prize.

Indie film prince and young action-drama actor Coco Martin denies courting his co-stars Alessandra da Rossi and Maja Salvador.

Rumors have it that Coco started squiring the two at the same time: Maja after they did “Nagsimula sa Puso,” and Alessandra during tapings for “Tayong Dalawa.”

“Si Alex ano ‘yon, eh, sabi ko nga, kumbaga parang lalaki kong version ‘yun. Si Maj, medyo wala kaming communication ngayon kasi medyo busy rin siya ngayon,” Coco explained on “Showbiz News Ngayon,” April 16.

The feisty actress was amused with talks that she and Coco have supposedly reached the mutual understanding stage.

MANILA, Philippines – Singer-dancer Gabriel "Gab" Valenciano is not wooing newcomer Sam Pinto.

Both Valenciano and Pinto made this denial amid rumors of their budding romantic relationship. The 2 stars, however, said they have been good friends even before Pinto joined ABS-CBN's hit-reality show “Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) Double Up.”

Gab said: "Sam Pinto is a very good friend of mine. I've known her even before PBB. Kaya for her and for me also, when I see her hindi artista ang tingin ko sa kanya. Friends talaga because at home kami with each other."

Pinto, who is being rumored to be dating “Wowowee” host Willie Revillame, also made the same denial.

Rumors about Pinto and Valenciano's romantic relationship surfaced after they were spotted together in Boracay during the special summer episode of “ASAP XV.”

The 2 even tweeted that they were together on the island. Gab also uploaded a photo of them together on his Twitter account.

In her separate interview with “SNN: Showbiz News Ngayon,” Pinto explained how the issue started.

"It started sa Bora. Kasi nasa party kami ng friend niya. Then he grabbed my phone and nag-tweet siya na he was with me. So, the whole world na pero wala lang ‘yon. We were friends before pa," she said.

Gab, meanwhile, disclosed that it was not the first time that he and Pinto went out together. "We even went to Tagaytay before. Pero hindi lang kaming dalawa, barkada din. So, ‘yong bond namin ay malakas even before showbiz."

According to Valenciano, he has no intention of wooing Pinto.

"Well, you can never say na walang plano with anybody. Kagaya ng sinabi ko na, she is pretty. But as of now, I just got out of a relationship. I think I need to take a break, renew myself, get back what I lost, and maybe in the future it could be Sam or Rachelle again. I really don't know," Valenciano said.

Valenciano’s former girlfriend is singer Rachelle Ann Go.

Sam Pinto turns down 'Wowowee' hosting job

MANILA, Philippines - "Pinoy Big Brother" alum Sam Pinto has turned down an offer to become a host of popular noontime show "Wowowee" to concentrate on her acting career.

"Mayroong offer. Pero I want to concentrate on acting. Kasi hindi ba if I do 'Wowowee' it's everyday so I have no time to do this (acting) na. So I chose acting," Pinto told abs-cbnNEWS.com.

The newbie star said that it is really her dream to be an actress.

Pinto also cleared speculations that she refused to host "Wowowee" because she is being romantically linked with Willie Revillame, the main host.

"No naman really. I just really want to do acting more," Pinto said.

Pinto, who was dubbed "Mrs. Wowowee" after guesting on the show, said she and Revillame remain good friends.

Is Tricia of PBB Teen Clash just another flirt?

Tricia and Ivan have been getting really close and intimate lately, often with Tricia starting it off. There are many, many revealing pictures of the two having intimate sessions and getting really close really early in the game, but the most shocking and most revealing is this picture of Tricia and Ivan kissing!!

If anyone cared to notice, Tricia is only 14 years old, while Ivan is 19. This isn't right, although it's arguable who is in the wrong here. Tricia being as young as she is, doesn't have the mind of Ivan - who should obviously be more mature considering his age. He should know not to let her get too close considering how young she is.

Who knows what this will come down to, but so far, we have seen many people creating hate groups and fan pages on Facebook against Patricia Santos and her flirty ways. Some of these groups are even getting members in the hundreds only hours after they were initially created. Could this be the start of a mass movement against Tricia? I actually never knew she was 14 until a friend told me, she looks 17-18 to me, but that still doesn't exactly change the fact that she is actually 14.

Does Tricia really have something for Ivan? Or is this her attempt to start a love team with Ivan in hopes of winning the game, as Melason did just a few months ago.

The Big Brother House reopens to teens to beat the summer heat

Think the new teen housemates are missing moments of frolicking under the mighty sun? Well, they definitely won’t be wishing they’re going to the beach for Kuya is set to make their summer quite memorable.

Welcomed to the freshly redesigned houses by a song-and-dance production from local artists like Yeng Constantino and Sam Concepcion, the fifteen new tenants entered the house with the help of hosts Toni Gonzaga, Bianca Gonzales and Mariel Rodriguez.
First to be introduced was Joe Vargas, dubbed as the "Swabeng Komikero ng Quezon City." He is tagged as such since it was said he was a ladies' man. "All in one na daw po ako, pwera lang sa kaputian (I'm already all in one, except for being fair-skinned)," he downplayed when asked by Toni G. to elaborate. He was followed by the "Bubbly Promdi ng Cebu" Devon Seron, who appeared to have lived up to her moniker upon showing up on stage next.

Third teen housemate to appear was Eslove Briones a.k.a. the "Sigang Istokwa ng Tawi-Tawi." He may be admittedly stubborn and has a lot of vices, but he pays it off by being an industrious and helpful son to his mother. After him came in the "Diskarte Bombshell ng Mindoro" Shey Bustamante, a beautiful, 5'6 tall, half-Australian who has never met her father.

The fifth one to join the roster of Big Brother's new teen housemates was Angelo Pasco, called the "Struggling Isko ng Antique." This is attributed to his back story of a hard life after having a deceased father, which has led him to pursue a college education. Next was Kyra Custodio alias the "Giling Girl ng Batangas," who was known for cooking up "dancing sidelines" to earn money for the family. She was then followed by Yong Gopez, or the "Boy Breadwinner ng Pampanga."

But before the list of the newest teen housemates can be completed, it should be noted from hereon that Big Brother has two houses for them this edition. While the first seven teens will be staying inside “The Villa”, the second half will be living in what has been newly dubbed as “The Apartment.” Leading the second batch was Romeo "Potz" Jalosjos III a.k.a. the "Political Son ng Dipolog." With the burden of his family’s political background on his back, he is hoping to find new acceptance by entering the Big Brother house. Meanwhile, the case is almost the same with the "Heiress Wonder of Cebu" Rebecca Chiongbian, who may be wishing to rebuild her emotional strength inside the house after her dad died while she was in the middle of the screening process for PBB. Another one trying to find a more interesting path inside the house is Yen Santos, coined the "Little Miss Sunshine ng Nueva Ecija," who temporarily stopped her schooling to try her luck in the entertainment industry.

The "Gentle Boy-Next--Door ng Mandalayung" Patrick Sugui went inside the house after Yen, and wass interrogated about his long-term courtship (10 months) with a girl but sadly the relationship only lasted 20 days. Two pretty young things in the forms of Tricia Santos (the "Athletic Muse ng Davao") and Kazel Kinouchi (the "Shopaholic Chick ng Parañaque") came in next.

The last two to join the housemates already settled inside the house were the headturner half-Irish half-Filipino Ivan Dorschner, which garnered him the label "Stunning Stud ng Rizal," and Fretzie Bercede, the "Charming Angel of Cebu."

And it looks like Big Brother can't wait to unleash his fury out on the new young occupants of his house. Imagine, the first night that the 15 teen housemates stepped into his territory, he gave them their first weekly task ever! In "Face Buko" the housemates are tasked to identify their neighbors by matching certain clues that will be given to them in the coming days. If by next Saturday, one group is unable to get all the matches correct, a person from that side of the Big Brother House will get an automatic eviction. And what's worse is that if the other group also fails to ace this task, two housemates in total have to leave.

While it seems like Team Villa and Team Apartment are promising enough to give the biggest clash this summer, Big Brother has yet to fill the last spot in the 16-slot list of his new house occupants. This is because the originally chosen housemate, dubbed as the "Dependent Darling," needed to have medical attention to address some health concerns. As what host Toni Gonzaga has said during the opening of the show, if “Dependent Darling” does not pass the doctor’s examination by tomorrow, she may be replaced with a certain substitute who is intriguingly called the "Courageous Lakan." Will a guy or a girl take the last coveted spot in Kuya’s house?

PBB Teen Clash of 2010 started tonight. Once again the “Bahay Ni Kuya” opened its doors to teens from all over the Philippines. Dalawa ang bahay ni Big Brother para sa Pinoy Big Brother Teen Clash of 2010. Ito ang magarbong Villa at ang simpleng Apartment. It is a clash of the Jejemons and the Conyos. Here are the PBB Teen Clash of 2010 Housemates:

Housemate no.1: Joe Vargas, Swabeng Komikero ng Q.C. Genesis Joseph Vargas or Joe is a son of a black religious missionary and a Filipina mom who is a battered wife.
