Sukob

You are cordially invited to witness the most terrifying wedding event…..

Sandy is preparing for her wedding when she learns what happened to her friend Helen. A short time after Helen’s father dies, Helen proceeds with her wedding. She did not believe in the curse of the “sukob” – that misfortune would follow you if your wedding falls on the same year that a family member died or one of your siblings got married. Soon after the wedding, Helen and her loved ones meet accidents. Their bodies have never been recovered.

Sandy proceeds with her own wedding. During the ceremony, she starts seeing glimpses of a ghostly flower girl. She learns that she is cursed by the “sukob”, just like Helen. But no one in her family just died and her sibling has been maried years ago. In search of an end to the curse, Sandy discovers a dark family secret and she might not be able to give what the “sukob” is asking her to sacrifice.

Ate

The plot's basically about two sisters, one whos' "practical" and the other one's rebellious. The older sister, Helen (Ara Mina), is trying to have a baby with her husband and her younger sister, Cleo (Cristine Reyes) lives with them. The couple's relationship is tested when Helen's husband, Dave (Paolo Paraiso) looks Cleo's way. I would give a better review but I didn't bother watching the whole movie. There was one thing I had a problem with and it was the music. Almost throughout the entire movie, there was some piano playing. It was annoying and unnecessary.

I Will Always Love You

Justin (RICHARD GUTIERREZ) & Cecille (ANGEL LOCSIN) play students from different social backgrounds and different high schools. He’s a rich, smart, confident mestizo from a private school in Manila, while she’s a lovely but simple scholar from a rural public school. Against the wishes of his wealthy parents, Justin pursues Cecille, who also falls hard for the handsome rich boy. Justin, however, is being forced to marry Donna (BIANCA KING), the daughter of his parents’ business partner. Knowing how much Justin loves Cecille, his parents order him to study in the United States in a bid to separate him from the lower-class girl. Unable to accept the prospect of life without Cecille, Justin is somehow able to take her with him to the US without his parents knowing. All is great between Cecille & Justin in America.

Their love for one another is fuelled further by the captivating, dream-like allure of San Francisco. He proves how much he loves her by not only getting her a student visa, but also by taking a lowly job in a Filipino supermarket in the Bay Area so he can pay for her studies. Cecille has no idea that Justin is working, let alone that he is paying for her studies out of his own pocket. One day, however, the bubble bursts. Justin’s mother (JEAN GARCIA) drops by to visit, bringing Donna (the young lady who is supposed to marry Justin) with them. Cecille is hidden away again in a relative’s apartment, and is upset that she is being treated like a dirty secret.

Things worsen when Cecille catches Justin & Donna in a tight embrace one afternoon, with Donna professing her love for Justin. Cecille is devastated. Cecille takes the first plane back to Manila, ignoring Justin’s attempts to explain why he was kissing Donna. He remains in San Francisco. With Justin out of the picture, Cecille’s childhood friend Dennis (JAMES BLANCO) courts her relentlessly. What Cecille really loves about Dennis is that he doesn’t treat her like a dirty secret. Dennis proudly introduces Cecille to his parents, who tell him that Cecille is everything they hoped she would be. In a few weeks, Dennis and Cecille are engaged to be married. And it is at this point when Justin tries to win Cecille back. Will he succeed? Is there a chance that Justin and Cecille can rekindle the perfect love they had for each other in dreamy San Francisco?

Angel

“Angels” is a trilogy. The three episodes featured in the movies are: “Angel of Mine”, “Daddy’s Angel” and “Angel of Love”. “Angel of Mine,” directed by Gina Alajar, features a career woman forced to tend to a child left by this problematic mother. “Daddy’s Angel” follows the bitter father-and-son relationship between a (dying) ex-convict and this affectionate young boy who bore miserable stigmas of a brutal past. A young man is imprisoned for killing a close friend, who raped his wife on his wedding day. While in prison, his wife gets pregnant, giving birth to this angelic boy. The wife dies before his sentence is due. In “Angel of Love”, Bianang, a frustrated musician, is caught in a tangle of family concerns. Orphaned by their mother and abandoned by their father, she is left to look after her two younger siblings and fend for their needs by finding her niche in the music industry. By some twist of fate, guised through Kerubina, her path crosses with Jude, a guy from a matriarchal clan of aristocrats who battles with repercussions of ending a heavily laden relationship.

Ang Pamana

ohnny De Jesus is a typical Canadian teen-ager; despondent, rebellious, and has no regard for his family. When the De Jesus-Reyes family gets word that their family matriarch, Lola (Grandmother) Nena has died, Johnny, and his prissy older sister Anna are in charge of representing their parents in Manila for the reading of their Lola’s last will and testament.

Johnny, a first time balikbayan, sees Manila with foreign eyes; from the poorest squatters to the richest of the gated village mansions. Johnny is introduced to his cousin Vanessa, a Manila junior socialite who shares Johnny’s taste for drugs and trouble. At the reading of the will the three grandchildren of Lola Nena are awarded the deed to the family farm in rural Bulacan. A bumpy two-hour ride out of the city, shuttled by their family driver, Dante, they arrive at the 19-hectare property, miles away from the comforts of the modern world. The land is as vast, lush, and teeming with insects’ hum. But things are anything but placid in this provincial landscape.Johnny’s first surprise comes in the form of Tommy, a mentally handicapped man with a seemingly developed third eye, lives on the farm, is also part of the inheritance. Vanessa has a surprise of her own when she takes Anna and Johnny to the secluded field beyond the orchid garden and reveals the marijuana she has planted to be harvested by her obnoxious, rich, prep-school drop out friends, Nicco, Paolo, and drug dealer boyfriend, Ronnie.

Things take a turn when Johnny comes to the reluctant realization that supernatural forces are at work on the land and the folklore that haunted his childhood are real.

First are the sightings of his Lola’s ghost, which Johnny tries to dismiss as drug-induced hallucinations. Is Johnny falling for local superstition in his stoned stupor? Is someone trying to poison them or are there truly Duwendes on the property cursing them. What is the real reason why the local farmers stay away from the property? What is the dark secret that Lola Nena took to the grave and left for Johnny to discover?

Set in Canada and the Philippines, Ang Pamana:The Inheritance is the story of the fears we carry and the ones that refuse to be left behind. Ang Pamana: The Inheritance is a supernatural thriller drawing from age-old Filipino folklore primed to frighten a whole new generation

Kimmy Dora

Meet Kimmy and Dora. Mga anak ni Luisito Cacanindin-Go Dong Hae. Kambal. Oo, kambal.

Si Kimmy ang panganay. Ambisiyosa, maabilidad at dominante. Hard-working si Kimmy, at ramdam yan sa Go Dong Hae Group of Companies.

But that’s where their similarities end. Kimmy is driven, sandamakmak ang accomplishments in life at katakot-takot ang pagka-smart. Walang sumiseryoso sa kanya, though everyone likes her more than her twin sister. Kimmy may be extraordinary, pero walang dudang special din si Dora… very special indeed.

Labis ang pagmamahal ni Luisito kay Dora. Okay na lang sana yun kay Kimmy, pero pati si Johnson – and lalaking matagal na niyang pinagpapantasyahan (to the max) – kay Dora nahuhumaling! At kahit ano pang effort ang gawin ni Kimmy para siya’y mapansin, wa’ epek… dahil Johnson’s heart belongs to none other than…Dora.

To add insult to injury, ginawa pang tagapagmana ng Go Dong Hae empire si Dora matapos mapilitang mag-early retirement ang kanilang ama! First her father, then her fantasy lover, now this business matter???

Naku! Trouble ito! Sa galit, Kimmy starts making arrangements para once and for all mawala na sa buhay niya si Dora! No more Dora, no more problem! Goons are hired to kidnap Dora — but NO!

Joyce Bernal, with the special participation of heartthrobs Dingdong Dantes and Zanjoe Marudo, kasama sina Miriam Quiambao, Baron Geisler, Ariel Ureta at marami pang iba!

Ipinagmamalaking ihandog ng Spring Films in her first – and second – starring roles, Eugene Domingo as Kimmy… and Eugene Domingo as Dora.
