“Wala kaming relasyon. Magkaibigan lang kami ni Maj. Happy ako na nakatrabaho ko siya. Wala namang ganoon. Wala naman akong niligawan,” said Coco Martin.
“Wala kaming relasyon. Magkaibigan lang kami ni Maj. Happy ako na nakatrabaho ko siya. Wala namang ganoon. Wala naman akong niligawan,” said Coco Martin.

Indie film prince and young action-drama actor Coco Martin denies courting his co-stars Alessandra da Rossi and Maja Salvador.

Rumors have it that Coco started squiring the two at the same time: Maja after they did “Nagsimula sa Puso,” and Alessandra during tapings for “Tayong Dalawa.”

“Si Alex ano ‘yon, eh, sabi ko nga, kumbaga parang lalaki kong version ‘yun. Si Maj, medyo wala kaming communication ngayon kasi medyo busy rin siya ngayon,” Coco explained on “Showbiz News Ngayon,” April 16.

He categorically said he didn’t even try wooing either of the two. “Wala kaming relasyon. Magkaibigan lang kami ni Maj. Happy ako na nakatrabaho ko siya. Wala namang ganoon. Wala naman akong niligawan.”

Alex, meanwhile, had already ditched romance rumors with Coco in her past interview. "Tapos na ang serye, wala nang dapat pag-usapan! Hindi kami naging kami, period!" Alex said.

The feisty actress was amused with talks that she and Coco have supposedly reached the mutual understanding stage.

"Nagkaroon kami ng understanding, oo – pero understanding as friends. Magkaibigan lang kami ni Coco. Yung sweetness namin, hanggang ganu’n lang 'yon. Sweet kami bilang magkaibigan lang talaga!" she stressed.

She disclosed in blatant terms why she and the actor can never be sweethearts.

"Hindi ko siya type! Alam naman niya 'yon. Hindi ko siya type dahil magkaibigan kami. Hindi siya nanligaw! Walang ligawang nangyari! Friends lang talaga!" she exclaimed.

Meanwhile, Coco clarified that he is not turning his back on indie films. Before going into mainstream acting, Coco appeared in a slew of highly acclaimed independent films, most prominent of which was “Serbis,” which made it to the Cannes Film Festival in 2008. For appearing in mostly indie films, the actor earned the moniker Prince of Independent Films of the Philippines.

“Hindi. Never kong gagawin ‘yun. Kumbaga, sabi ko diyan ko nailalabas ang artistic side ko. Diyan ko nagagawa ang mga pangarap kong mga role, mga pangarap kong istorya. Hinding-hindi ko tatalikuran,” he said
