Will Charice accept new Dubai offer?

Will Charice Pempengco agree to do a concert in Dubai after a promoter in that oil-rich region duped her last year?

That concert, which was supposed to be held at Zabeel Park, an open field arena that can accommodate thousands of people, was canceled at the last minute with the promoter vanishing into thin air. Charice was never paid nor did she get a downpayment.

Reportedly, the promoter made Team Charice believe that he will send the money through wire transfer. Since the transaction usually takes days, he asked Charice and her mom to proceed to Dubai. The duo obliged, thinking they might as well be there early so they could still rest and attend to rehearsals.

Besides, Charice was anxious as she was told she will perform together with four live bands from the Philippines—she wanted to get acquainted with them prior to concert proper.

The mother and daughter team looked for the promoter as soon as they arrived, but the man was gone. They later learned that the production staff was also having difficulty locating the promoter. Charice and her mom eventually left Dubai empty handed.

Of course, the ticket holders were more than surprised when they learned about the cancellation. They trooped to the ticket outlet demanding for refunds. A regular ticket cost P1,000 while a VIP ticket, P4, 000.

According to sources sought by Manila Bulletin Entertainment Online, the ticketing office was able to file a case against the sleazy promoter, who is now behind bars.

Are Charice’s fans still excited to see their idol in next month’s concert? Will they be interested in buying tickets just to see Charice perform after that brouhaha?

Negotiations for the possible concert—with international singer Billy Crawford as special guest—is ongoing.
