MANILA, Philippines – (UPDATE) Seven-division champion Manny Pacquiao retained his World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight title by a unanimous decision win over challenger Joshua Clottey of Ghana at the Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas on Saturday (Sunday in Manila).

The scores were 120-108, 119-109 and 119-109 all in favor of the pound-for-pound king.

The fight, scheduled for 12 rounds, was Pacquiao’s first title defense since his 12th-round technical knockout win over Puerto Rico’s Miguel Cotto last November.

Boxing analysts predicted the fight to last until the later rounds, with Pacquiao getting the upper hand.

Pacquiao now has a 51-3-2 record while Clottey fell to 35-4.

The referee of "The Event" was Rafael Ramos while the judges were Levi Martinez, Nelson Vasquez and Duane Ford.
