Kris Aquino: ‘Should I quit The Buzz?’

It was another emotional Sunday for “The Buzz” when host Kris Aquino broke down and confessed that thoughts of leaving the showbiz talk show crossed her mind.

“On my way here, kausap ko ‘yung tatlo kong kapatid [Ballsy Aquino-Cruz, Pinky Aquino-Abellada and Viel Aquino-Dee] and I was saying, 'I think I want to say goodbye,'” a tearful Queen of All Media began.

Ever since the election period commenced, the host, actress and endorser has been the object of scrutiny, which is said to affect the public image of her brother, Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III, who is running for president.

“A person can only take so much,” Kris quipped, adding, “Pero masakit na. Masakit po sa’kin dahil ginagamit ako para sirain ang pamilya ko. Eh nagbago naman po ako eh. Everyday I try to be the daughter that my mom deserves.”

The controversial youngest daughter of late President Cory Aquino and slain senator Benigno Aquino, Jr. said she fears of losing her sanity with all the constant nitpicking.

“Sinabi ko sa mga kapatid ko, tao lang ako talaga. And I said this election parang lahat ng kagalit ni Noy, kung merong kailangang pintasan, ako parati. Tapos sinabi ko kay Ate parang mababaliw na ko kasi mababasa mo na parang ikaw na ang pinaka-walanghiyang tao sa mundo. Lalabas ka at libo-libong tao naman ang magsasabi sa’yong ‘I love you Kris,'” she continued.

Amid the turmoil hounding her in showbiz and in politics, Kris is thankful for her sisters who continue to encourage her to stay strong.

“My sisters told me, ‘Krissy konting tiis na lang, dalawang buwan na lang naman eh’. At sinabi sa ’kin ni Ate, 'Di ba hindi ka quitter?'”

To her brother, she vowed: “I’m not going to disappoint you anymore and I’m not going to give them reasons to criticize you.”

Following her tactless remark last Sunday to Ruffa Gutierrez, which took a toll on the latter and on her whole family, the “Pilipinas Got Talent” resident judge related her older sisters’ advice.

“It’s a lesson. You just have to be so careful with everything that escapes your mouth. And you just have to learn that all eyes are on you so try your best to stay strong,” Kris said.

Prior to Kris’ lamentation, she revealed that her former “Buzz” co-host sent her and Boy Abunda flowers, as well as a note of “Peace.”

In other news, Kris announced that her son Baby James aka "Bimby" is making his debut appearance on "Kung Tayo'y Magkakalayo" on March 15. He plays Baby Michael who is Celine's (Kris' character) son with Frank (Albert Martinez).
