Smart Gilas Pilipinas suffered a humbling loss at the hands of Serbia's second strongest basketball team Vrsac Hemofarm.
This Division 1 team is composed of 3 Serbian national players and 1 Slovenian national player, along with several members of the under-20 national team of Serbia. Hemofarm was led by the towering 7'4" center Marjanovic.(via asst coach Jude Roque)
"Lost by 31 pts to Hemofarm, Vrsac today. They are the second best team in Serbia next to Partizan, w/ 3 national players including a 7'5 beast! Great experience though! They had the size, quickness, skill and experience. Looks like they will make it to the Euroleague next year. Game was held at the beautiful Millenium Center in Vrsac city east of Belgrade, very close to Romania." - Chris Tiu
"Just when we thought d competition can't get tougher, we just learned we will be playing Partizan team A on Monday, yes the team that's currently in the Final4 of the Euroleague together with Olympiakos, Barcelona & Cska Moscow, by beating Maccabi Tel Aviv 3-1. Oh & lastly, looks like we just lost our prospective import,Dwayne Jones to the Phoenix Suns who's about to sign him... Happy Easter!!" - Chris Tiu
