Journey frontman Arnel Pineda was utterly surprised over rumors that he has been sacked from the popular rock group.
According to rumors, Arnel’s contract was not renewed by the group.
Journey is also said to be lacking in gigs in the US.
The singer is clueless abut the recent controversy that befell him.
“Wala naman silang sinasabi na ganyan. Actually, I’ve been talking to our manager, si Mr. John Baron. I’m leaving on the 15th of April to record a new album. I’m still with Journey,” Arnel explained on "Showbiz News Ngayon," February 18.
As proof that he’s still very much with the band, the singer announced a big project that the group is about to finish with all of the members, him included.
“Meron kaming documentary na ilalabas right after ng paggawa namin ng album. Ano ito, life ng members ng Journey,” he said.
The documentary even had the backings of the original Queen of Talk, Oprah Winfrey.
“I heard somewhere Ms. O is planning to co-produce it, si Miss Oprah.”
On December 5, 2007, Arnel became the official lead singer of the American rock group Journey after he passed the “nerve-wracking” auditions held in Marin County, north of San Francisco.
According to a tabloid report, Arnel’s gone swell-head after his success in the international music scene.
The singer refuted this accusation. “I have never become like that,” he protested.
